Founder and musical director: Margot Lloyd

North Shore City 100 Voice Chorale was founded in 1985 to give the wider community an opportunity to sing and perform without needing to audition.  In 2005 the decision was taken to audition choir members, to raise the standard of the choir, with a view to our twentieth anniversary concert.

The mixed choir performs a wide variety of secular and sacred, classical and popular music in the three regular performances each year.

Our concerts include:

bulletA classical, often sacred major work just before Easter
bulletThe last Night of the Proms with the Auckland Symphony Orchestra at
the Bruce Mason Centre, Takapuna, in June/July.
bulletA Christmas Concert.
bulletOur Christmas commitments also includes several Carols by
Candlelight appearances in North Shore City Parks, and
carol singing at the North Shore Hospital.
bulletA fourth (springtime) concert is often added to the annual schedule.

Our choir has three special elements:

  1. We maintain a high standard of performance.
  2. Our group is a mixture of all ages and backgrounds.
  3. Our members' commitment is requested by season, and not annually.  However we have many loyal members  who by their regular attendance over the years have ensured the continuing success of the choir and its committee.
